Okay, I probably sound like a broken record, so this is short and sweet, you can always ask questions
3 glorious weeks, wasn't enough
stayed at my house with my new tiki bar, love it!
Day trip to 1. Parrot Cay 2. North and Middle Caicos 3. Grand Turk
2 excursions: Caicos Dream Tours and Island Vibes (both awesome and must dos!)
Restaurants: Tuesday night ON the beach BBQ Somerset, Bay Bistro BBQ (do not miss, excellent), Bay Bistro for Brunch and some lunches, Vix, Tiki Hut rib night, Baci, Somewhere On the Beach, the Plunge at Regent Palms, Hemingways , Las Brisas, but mostly ate at home, at you guessed it, my tiki bar ![]()
1 place really stood out and I have to rave: Lauren previous from O'Soleil is executive chef at Fairways Golf course restaurant, I cannot tell you how amazing that meal was! If you're a meat lover, this steak is to die for. The aged rib-eye, the french onion soup, and the avocado bruchetta were so yummy!
weather: pretty good for December and Jan. Nice and tan, no rain. It did like to haze up between noon and 2, and was windy most of the time, but overall warm water and terrific temps.
Flew down Continental, loved them!
Left on a Friday, airport was crazy! I must say though, all the workers were extremely calm and pleasant, they've come along way from years past. I found in general all workers everywhere and islanders were friendly, happy, delightful.
Ask away!

Couldn't get the photos--it was just a general photobucket sight.
Was your dinner at Fairways any particular night? MDH golfs almost every morning and we've always wanted to go there at night. With your good review of the restaurant, we just might do so.
BTW, you do not sound like a broken record so please don't fix it. We love all your reports & photos.

Wonderful pictures & trip report, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful photos! And I love the tiki bar!
Give me a Mango Margarita and take me away!!!
it IS the best tiki bar on the island
your daughter is turning into a great model. the pics of the puppy are way too cute. did you bring him home or just take for the day?
Questions----what's with the mad cow, I don't get it?
We'd like to bring our grandaughters, ages 7 and 11. They tend to get seasick on small boats. Your excursions look like fun for them, what to do?
Also it would have to be the beginning of June, between school and camp. How is the weather at at that time. We've only been there in March.
blamona, I'm counting on you to direct us.
TPAYT, we did the Caicos Dream Tour in August and my husband gets sea sick in a hammock. He was fine on the tour, even without his meds. It was a very smooth ride, and you can see land during the whole trip. Hope that helps!
TPAYT, Mad Cow is the name of a very hard to reach obscure beach in Middle Caicos. I've wanted to see it for years, and wouldn't you know it, there was a line of clouds blocking the sun the time I was there (sunny everywhere else, UGH)

I really love Caicos Dream Tours and Island Vibes. Both use catamarans so less rocking. But to give advice, if they don't jump in the water at the reef it will rock while people snorkel. So as long as they snorkel, they're fine. My now 10 year old has done it since she was 3! You can also tell if it's calm enough or not, meaning if there's a break on the reef, if no break, you're good! June in general has like glass water, so I think you're good! I used to suffer motion sickness, especially on planes, I found chewing gum helps too.
Virginia, I di not adopt that pup, but I take pictures for their facebook page to help out, amazing how quickly they go after my pictures!
Fairways was excellent! I think any night is good.
My tiki hut is the best on the island! It was inspired by Kelly's and mine mutual friend, and all are invited!
On a different note, what I really got on this trip is learning to give back--
Caicos Dream Tours accepts used clothes, towels, sheets, shoes donate to less fortunate in North Caicos. When school is in session, they take a boat to a school there and feed 35 kids. I plan to join them when I coincide. These families can't even afford food!
Dejs from Tripadvisor had a fundraiser for awareness of the reefs. TA users donated for a tile, and it was placed in the water in December.
Potcake Place takes care of all stray puppies and gives them to forever homes in the States and Canada.
Turks and Caicos Reservations promotes the outer islands that don't get any attention. Middle Caicos has a co-op that promotes all things made on the islands (straw bags and hats, conch carvings, wooden boats, salts from Salt Cay) They have a wooden boat race at Bamberra Beach and the prettiest boat belongs to Turks and Caicos Reservations. Awesome to support the lessor known TCI, and promote these families for a true Caribbean vibe.
There is also a children's home across from the police station at Chalk Sound. They always welcome Wii games and clothes, cleaning supplies, etc. Some of these children have really been abused. What an excellent way to rid of things we don't use anymore, yet help others.
I came back with the knowledge that when I return I will do more to give back.
I love Turks and Caicos!
THanks for the great report, as always. Off to see those fab pictures now!
Great pictures as always and the pup in the chair is so cute! Your photos have me yearning to get back. We stayed in a house on Whitby Beach and it was one of our best times having that glorious beach just outside the back door.
I love you tikki bar, too - goombay smash for me, please!
