Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort
On the spur of the moment, I booked a 5 night trip to Nassau for later this month (February) for my husband and myself. I had to cancel a Jetblue reward ticket flight this morning, and the policy is you book something new or lose the ticket. So surprise, we are going to Nassau! We are looking to relax and recuperate from a tough year. I have read a lot about the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort on other travel sites. No mention of it at all on Fodors. Does anyone have experience with this property they'd like to share? Thanks, everyone.

Having problems with posts on the talk forum, I think. Today I posted a reply about Turks and Caicos, but it hasn't appeared. Is there a problem with the site?
Anyway, still looking for information and experiences with the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort. Thanks, everyone.

The Sheraton is part of a multi million dollar make over of the hotels on Cable Beach.
We were in the Bahamas last November and met up with a guy staying there. His only comment was that the restaurant prices were killing him and he couldn't afford to eat at the hotel another night. He'd paid $60 for dinner at the Italian restaurant (for one inc. a beer) and the food was mediocre; he compared it to Pizza Hut.
We recommended he went to eat at the Fish Fry (an area with lots of little restaurants serving fresh fish and other local dishes).
Sorry I can't help with any more details.

Thanks for the input, sassy. Do you have any advice about other reasonably priced restaurants in the area? Fish fry sounds like a great idea. We'd probably do one or two dinners on the upscale side, but we are most definitely open to local, casual restaurants that won't break the bank. I'd appreciate your feedback on that since we've never been in Nassau before. Advice, anyone?

We have stayed at the Radisson Cable Beach, which is now the Sheraton - twice and loved it both times. The Radisson was an AI - all food was excellent!!! Check to see if the Sheraton has an all-inclusive package you can buy seperately, since you have already booked.. The beach is beautiful, large - there was lots of activity on the beach if you wanted it - and also quieter areas if you wanted that. The price has gone up quite a bit since it was the Radisson - but we would still love to go back...No advice on the restaurants outside the resort b'cause we never left - it was that good!!!
