Seeking info on Grenada and LaSource

Jump to last reply

We are leaving in one week and would love to hear from anyone who has been to Grenada, especially from those who have stayed at LaSource.

Regarding LaSource: We are supposed to have a waterfront room; any ones to request or avoid? What is appropriate evening/dinner dress? Is there any tipping expected or appropriate? Is there good snorkeling from the beach? Do they take snorkelers out on trips or only divers?

On Grenada in general: Where is the best snorkeling and how do you get there? Is a trip to one of the waterfalls worth it? How and which one? Has anyone done a day trip to Carriacou? Is it worth it? Suggestions on things to do and see? Thanks.

We just returned from LaSource and had a wonderful time. I'll answer the questions that I can. As far as rooms go, all rooms on the top floor have a cathedral ceiling and look more spacious. Also, any of the end units have an additional sitting area with a bay window. We were lucky enough to have one of those rooms and it was very spacious. We were upgraded without asking, but you can always ask at check in time. At night, one restaurant (open all evenings except Wed. and Sat.) men need collared shirts, and no jeans. Nothing fancier than that. Women wore either slacks or casual skirts/dresses. All evenings a buffet restaurant is open and you can wear shorts or anything else. Tipping is included already and we didn't see anyone leave anything additional. The snorkeling from the beach is decent, but nothing very special. There's a boat trip ($20) for snorkeling which is supposed to be a little better.
We took a 1/2 day guided hike of the 7 sisters waterfalls in the rainforest with Mandoo and enjoyed it very much. I'll answer any other questions you may have if I can. Have a great time!
