Sea Aquarium Resort, Caraçao

Jump to last reply

Am considering the Sea Aquarium Resort in Curaçao as a timeshare exchange during Easter week with 2 16 year olds (female). Opinions anyone? Any activities at the resort? Is it necessary to rent a car? Does the complementary "membership" at the adjacent sea aquarium include use of their beach? Does the island have enough to interest the girls? Insight from all who have stayed there would be sincerely appreciated.

My wife and I really enjoyed the resort in April and are returning in January. We do not own a unit.
It is a small intimate resort so activities are at a minimum. The area at the Sea Aquarium or resort are not great or is a trip to see the aquarium.
It is very well maintaind. You do need a car. Hertz is very reliable if you are anywhere on the island for more than 4 days. taxi fares are high. Snorkeling on the West End a 55-60 minute car ride has beautiful coved beaches with excellent snorkeling.
The dining is good to excellent. Two places qwe ate at twice were LaRouse (French-Swiss) excellent but $35-40US/person with appetizer and entree. The other is Avalon and here they have fusion food and the cost is $30+/-/person but very good. There is also a McDonalds and KFC 10 minutes from resort for junk food.
Both LaRouse and Avalon are within 15 minutes of the resort.
Avoid eating at the Marriott. Our lunch was only fair but high priced and dinner at their Portofino was poor, in our opinion, and it was about $35-40/person. Hope this helps you.
