Sandal's Dunn's River
We are planning on having our wedding/ honeymoon at Sandal's Dunn's River. We want all-inclusive and like what we have seen through video and brochures about Dunn's River. (I want something hassel free)

I am wondering if it is what it appears to be in the brochures and is it worth the money? I have read other comments that bash Sandals so I am looking for feedback about this resort from anyone who has visited this resort and can give true and honest opinions.

Do the rooms appear new and fresh or do they look old and smell musty? (We are considering either the Honeymoon Concierge Room or the Honeymoon Penthouse Concierge Room.) What is the nightlife (both on & off the resort) like - is it happening or boring? What type of crowd and age? What is the beach area and water like? How is the food? How is the service? How are the activities (beach and watersports)?

Any and all information is very much appreciated! Thanks in advance for the help.

We split our honeymoon at Sandal's Dunn's River & Sandal's Negril. I wouldn't stay at SDR again mainly because the beach was small. The beach had fences erected on both sides of it with hawkers selling their T-shirts, etc. You couldn't walk the beach and sorry to be so blunt but it totally sucked!

We would stay at Sandal's Negril again. The beach was beautiful and the town of Negril has much more to offer.

My wife and I stayed at Dunn's River in May. The grounds and layout are nice. The rooms tended to be on the plain side and needed updating. In general all the buildings could use some renovations . Beach is small and the distraction of the vendors was at times annoying. The water activities were fun, although they book up quickly. Night life was kind of the outdated "musical chairs" type activities. Silly and at times embarrasing. The playmakers did their best to make things interesting but even with their enthusiasm it was of not much interest to most people. Pools are nice and big. Food was plentiful but average, beer selection poor, premium liquor is not much choices, very limited. The pitch and putt golf course is in dire need of sprucing up. There can be some foul odors around (bar areas & grounds next door). Believe it or not nights tend to be dull & deserted. Go to Sandals Ocho Rios, the grounds are beautiful, dining is good (One night they dine on the beach, try and book that one). Dunns River Falls was fun yet crowded. Saw three weddings, simple yet festive. As far as the money part goes Sandals is a good value with the current 35-50% discounts that are available. Don't pay full price. The best of luck to you and yours!

I just got back from my honeymoon at Sandals Dunn's River and loved it. We had booked the honeymoon concierge suite and were upgraded to the Penthouse Concierge Suite. I visited Sandals Ocho Rios while there and I liked Dunn's River better. Dunn's River is much more open and spread out along the beach. The beach at Ocho Rios was very small. I had heard many negative reports about Sandals before we left for our honeymoon, but I am happy to report that our experience with Sandals could not have been better. We met a lot of other couples who were on their honeymoon and they also loved Sandals.
