Sandals Antigua or Jumby Bay?

Can anyone give me some advice on whether to spend my honeymoon at Sandals Antigua or Jumby Bay?

Now really, use your sense. Sandals is a chain! Lots of honeymoon ads, 4 page color glossys! Jumby is a private island! Heard some guests came over from Sandals to see Jumby and asked where all the guests were! Very low key! No TV, No fax, no swim up pool. Seriously it all depends what you are looking for! Too different places. What are you looking for!

Oh my goodness. I am surprised by your question in that the appeal of Jumby (privacy, luxury) is the complete opposite of the Sandals appeal (heavy drinking and geared for very young inexperienced travelers).

What type of honeymoon do you want?

These two resorts are not comparable in any way. Jumby Bay is a world-class resort, and Sandals is, well, cheesy and mass market and overpriced. (Yes, I *have* been to both!)

If your budget permits, choose Jumby Bay. If not, consider Galley Bay instead of Sandals. Thank me later.

While I would not choose Sandals, I do like a vacation with a TV in my room, perhaps a swim up bar in the pool, nightly live entertainment, etc. so Jumby doesn't appeal to me. If this is what T is looking for as well, then Jumby Bay isn't IT either.

Jumby Bay is very lovely, and very secluded. If you are looking for an all inclusive resort that still offers some creature comforts like a TV and easier access to activities on land but not as "cheesy" as Sandals, look into Blue Waters,Galley Bay or even CocoBay though they are more on the "rustic" side.
For every kind of person, there is a place. We loved Sandals Antigua. Swim up bar is nice, and I can honestly say that out of the four Sandals we have been to, we have only seen one person ever who had done some heavy drinking and that was an attorney in the Bahama's. There are all ages at Sandals and many of us have been to other places that are not AI's.
