A much valued, budget bed and breakfast in Bermuda will close.

Yes, we found out a few weeks back. We are so fond of Mrs. Lowe, really a WONDERFUL lady. We will be there in October for 8 nights. Must be our 19th or 20th visit to SKH. It will be bittersweet.
Keeping our eyes opened for our next special place, but nowhere will stand up to SKH.

cmcfong,

I am very familiar with Greenbanks, having walked by it for years coming & going to the ferry. We have not been inside yet. May need to stop by in October. I'm also interested in Watercolours. My husband would like to try Fourways (always the place for our "special dinner", but we have never stayed). I know Fourways is one of your favorites. Rather than visit annually, we may change the frequency to every 18 months or so; this may give a little more flexibility we our budget.

I stayed at Watercolours several years ago. Here is my very dated review
http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...h_Bermuda.html
I go in Dec and the rates at Fourways are quite affirdable. The rooms have a microwave and a fridge which give you some flexibility on food. And the grocery store is very close by. Compaing the two I prefer the Fourways cottage as I feel more privacy there. The view is ok, but not splendid like Watercolours. Watercolours is more elegantly furnished and a bit stuffier i think. The staff at Fourways is handy but the restaurant is top dog. The rooms include day beach passes to Coco Reef, which is very nice.
Enjoy your visit!
