My husband and I have finally decided on the Royal Playa Del Carmen Resort in Riviera Maya. Can anyone tell me what is the Best room type? We were looking into the Ocean Front Beach Walk out suite, but then as I was reading some reviews I am not sure if I should go with the swim out suite.

Wonderful choice. We went to The Royal Playa Del Carmen for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Honestly, I wouldn't spend the money for an upgraded room. We stayed in a Royal Junior suite and were completely happy with it. Every single room has a jacuzzi in the room, so that isn't an upgrade. The resort itself isn't that large so it's not like it took long to walk to the restaurants, beach, etc. If we were to go back, we would book for the Royal Junior suite. We were in our room so little it wouldn't pay for us to upgrade. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
I agree with cjs2011. All the rooms are a suite. The difference in the cost factor is location. Closer to the beach, the more money. The swim out rooms are not private. Anyone can swim up to or by your door.
Here's a pic of the swim out pool rooms. The access to the pool is in the main pool where anyone can swim. I would not pay an upgraded price for that.

Here's another view of my DH in front of those rooms.

The only thing I wuld suggest is do not get a ground level/1st floor room. They are not private either. There is no enclosed fenced patio and anyone walking by can see you. Not a good way to enjoy your hammock. Get a upper level floor with a balcony.
The Royal is one of our very favorite AI resorts. Enjoy your trip.
Thank you for the advice.
