Hi, I have an opportunity to stay at either and was wondering what was better. It looks like, although I could be wrong, that the Royal Palm doesn't have a beach, but there is some sort of shuttle to the beach at Flamingo Beach resort? Also, is it in an area with restaurants and night life? Any info on these resorts and the general area would be most appreciated.

we have stayed at the Royal Palm ( I think that is right, next to the airport?) two times. Yes the beach area is small but there is enough of it and quite handy from the resort as well as just the best in people watching and snorkeling right off to the right. It is so accessible to grocery and things handy that you will need. LOVED it . Will return
thank you. That is very helpful!
While vacationing in St. Maarten this past February, we were at Toppers (right next to the Royal Palm) having a cocktail. We met an owner of a timeshare from the Royal Palm, we were looking around for places to stay for next year and hence visited a room at the Royal Palm, and also checked out the grounds.
The room had 2 bedrooms - it was nice. The kitchen was updated as well.....
The Royal Palm has a pool with a swim up bar. Not too big, not too small.
The beach looks a little man made to me. It is small, but the water is calm.
The location is good - i.e. you could walk to several places for dinner/shopping. You would also have a front row to watching the boat parade every day...i.e. when the bridge opens and the yachts pass through - it's very cool.
I don't know about the other place you mentioned other than you can catch the Ferry from Pelican Key to Saba or get excursions to islands like Prickley Pear and there are several restaurants there.
