beach and water is very nice, hotel rooms were adequate. food if not on all inclusive is expensive. taxi to town is expensive but you can take shuttle. i would rate this hotel as a 3 star or a 3 and a quarter.

Just came back from 8 days at this hotel. We would not go back for several reasons: it is not close to anything so you need a car or a taxi to get around. The rooms are clean but run-down with mildew, stains, ripped screens, missing fixtures. If you are thinking all-inclusive -don't-the food here was ok but very limited. The beach was pretty but crowded-not a beach to stay on for 8 days. Our advice take the money that you'll spend on taxi's and/or car rental and stay another place. The island is great!

just came back from 8-days there. The beach was long and attractive, it's crowded near the hotel bythe umbrellas, but empty further down (you'll want shade. The palm trees provide more of it than the umbrellas do) Vendors were noticeable, but not too bothersome. A firm "no" and they move on. If you want to go horseback-riding on the beach though, the vendor is recruiting only in late morning, so if you're not on the beach, you'll miss out. The rooms were big, and the balconies spacious. The furniture was mildewed, but every thing else was fine (no ripped screens, missing fixtures. Luck of the draw, perhaps?) Food was limited, but OK. We didn't do the all inclusive and had great, though pricey meals at Coconut grill in Dickenson's Bay, Chez Pascal near Royal Antiguan (it was still a $10 cab ride each way), and Admiral's Inn in English Harbor. Found Antiguans to be very amiable and helpful. Wherever you decide to stay, though, do rent a car a see the rest of the island.

forgot to add-- nightly entertainment is minimal, and transportation elsewhere is expense.
