Rincon
Planning my first trip to PR and looking to stay in Rincon. Has anyone stayed at the Coconut Palms Inn? Or the Lazy Parrot?
Also, would you recommend staying in Rincon the whole time or traveling around the island? (we will be there for 5 or 6 days).
Thanks! Any advice on the area would be awesome.

SAnParis2,
Did you enjoy your stay at the Coconut Palm Inn? Or would you recommend staying somewhere else?
We are thinking about splitting our time between Rincon and Fajardo so that we can also visit the rain forest and do a biobay kayaking trip.

Stayed at the Lazy Parrot for 3 or 4 days, but that was a number of years ago, and I don't know what it is like now. It was fairly basic but OK then. I do remember that we liked the restaurant. We used it as a base for day trips around that end of the island.

I would certainly stay there again. Great location & the units on the beach are little 1 bdrm apts. No reason to stay in Fajardo, but if you want to see the rain forest, check out http://www.casacubuy.com/ If she isn't busy you'll need to take your own food. From our room there we could see 3 waterfalls from our balcony ! It is well worth the trip. Any of the bio-bays are very much dependent on the moon cycle and such. Check that, first. If you have to stay in Fajardo to do the bio-bay or hop a ferry, stay here http://www.fajardoinn.com/ The rooms are pretty spartan, but they have a nice pool & a little restaurant bar that isn't bad.

Hi,
We loved the Coconut Palms. It is a simple place with good basic accomodations.
Here is our review on TripAdvisor:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...erto_Rico.html
We've been to Puerto Rico many times. We do not stay in OSJ for more than a night or two at most.
You might also want to try Isabela, although if you're a surfer, the locals are a little less accommodating to tourist surfers. We stayed at a rustic parador called "Villas del Mar Hau." We would stay there again also. Incredible beach and views from this beachfront hotel with individual cabinas.
Cabo Rojo is definately worth a drive south from Rincon!
Enjoy!
