My husband and I are chartering a sailboat to sail from St. Vincent to Grenada for our 1 year wedding anniversary (our anniversary is on New Year's Eve). Does anyone have recommendations for romantic restaurants, with excellent food, on St. Vincent, Mustique, Bequia or any of the other islands nearby? What about fun nightlife?

We have stayed at Palm Island many times most recently in Fall 2000. The new owners have done an esquisite job with the restaurant. Although we were disappointed with some other aspects of the now all inclusive resort, the food was absolutely perfect. From the appetizers to the desserts you could not ask for anything better. I believe you can make dinner reservations there even if you are not a hotal guest. It would definely be worth the stop.
Enjoy! The entire area is one of the most beautiful you will ever experience.
A stop at Basils Bar on Mustique is a must. www.basilsbar.com - Wednesday night has a grand buffett and a jump up with live band. Other nights, they will seat you in a candlit, romanic section for dinner if you want.
Fun place to be and the food is excellent! (don't be shocked at the menu prices - they are in EC - when you convert to US$ prices are very reasonable.
Bequia is our favorite! Mac's Pizzeria is a must for lobster pizza (with extra garlic!). Great curry at the Gingerbread. Have a seat in the adirondack chairs at the Frangipani and enjoy a drink while gazing at your sailboat bobbing in the bay. They also have entertainment certain nights. Haven't been in several years but Le Petit Jardin was a lovely spot for an intimate dinner.
