Restaurant Recommendations

We are spending a couple of weeks in St Martin, Anguilla, Saba and St Barts soon and would like some restaurant recommendations please. We are looking for some special splurge places. It has been a few years since I was last there (and it is a first visit to Saba), thank you.

On St. Barth's we've always had very enjoyable meals at Ils de France and Eden Rock.

On Anguilla we like Straw Hat and many people rate Blanchard's very high.

On St. Martin just about every restaurant in Grand Case is worth a visit.

Of course, Odin wants to have a feast...

The best - Imo on St Martin :
Anse Marcel Anse Marcel beach : you eat in huts on the beach. And the food is great.

Pinel Karibuni : on Pinel island, great losters (not lobsters, 'langouste' - keep forgetting the english name

Dreams : don't remember where it was. Fabulous.

In grand-case :
Calmos café : great and inexpensive
Ocean 82 : expensive but real good

On Anguilla I had a loster pizza ... hmmmm

We had a wonderful meal at Jacala on Anguilla on our last trip. Veya was also very good. Our last couple of meals at Blanchard's haven't been up to the standard we were used to on previous trips. We do like Blanchard's Beach Shack for lunch however and the tuna bahn mi for lunch at Straw Hat was absolutely delicious. I had it three times on our last trip.

If you're on the French side of St. Martin we also quite like Sol e Luna. It's not in the town of Grand Case but just off the road from Grand Case to the Orient Beach area.

We stayed at Eden Rock on St. Barts and the restaurant there is very good and very pricey. Actually, we didn't have a bad meal anywhere on St. Barts.

On Anguilla I second Jacala. We had the best dinner on Anguilla at Jacala. We found Veya so so. Would also recommend Blanchard's beach shack for lunch and you can use their beach chairs on Meads bay. We also loved Straw Hat and eat there twice. However, our friends who were there this past Nov said they had a bad experience at Straw Hat (I think it was Thanksgiving week so maybe they had an off night...not sure) but I would recommend you check recent reviews on Trip advisor for Straw Hat.

In St Barth you will have Great food and wine in any restaurant. All of them cater for an international demanding crowd. What makes the difference is the atmosphere, quite or DJ/party, right on the beach or by the boats or even top of a hill with views on Statia and St Kitts, in a tropical garden. So, depends on what you are after.

Thanks but I have already started to book a couple of restaurantsbr />
Sand Bar Eden Rock for lunch - several restaurants that we wanted were closed from May eg Tamarin for lunch service

Hibernia Anguilla but we will go to some beach shacks places as well, eg Blanchards

Birds Nest at Queens Garden Resort Saba, really looking forward to this restaurant and Saba (not the flight though).

Dreams SXM is closed for dinner during low season
Anse Marcel Beach is only open for breakfast and lunch as its low season
We've booked Le Shambala, Ocean82 is also closed. We'll go to Calmos Cafe, Pinel island and few others in Grand Case.

If you dont like landing in Saba, you may not like landing in SBH when QFU 10 is used (usually the case unless there is no wind)...

Hey guys we were in Sint Maarten/ Saint Martin a couple of months ago and we visited this restaurant on the water called Boca Marina. I must say upon arrival it seemed like a shipyard however, the food was great and the view was spectacular. We would reccomend this restaurant to any one visiting St. Maarten. If your having difficulties locating them you can try contacting them on facebook where the have a live chat and messaging service

We spent a few weeks in Anguilla in April 2017. Our recommendations,in order:

Hibernia-not just a meal, an experience. At the far end of the island-- if you don't have a rental car, they will pick you up. Worth!

Straw Hat--this place is popular, and always busy. Pleasant environment at Frangipani. We liked it enough to go twice.

The Restaurant at Malliouhana. I wish they would give this place it's own name so it could be properly reviewed on trip advisor. It only shows up in the hotel list. Great food. Fabulous service.

Spice at Cap Juluca. We ate there more than once. Delicious and creative appetizers and small plates. Seating on the water overlooking serene Maunday's Bay.

Tasty's on the main road. The Johnny Cakes are one of those things I will always remember about my trip to Anguilla.

Ken's Barbeque in the Valley. Ridiculously cheap and delicious ribs and chicken at a roadside stand on weekends.

Mabel Gumbs pigtail corn soup on Saturday afternoons in the valley. So delicious and so decadently fat-loaded. Ask a local where to find her. She's an icon.

Roti Hut on the main road near the airport. Great for lunch. Don't make the mistake of ordering two. One is big enough for two. These are not the fried Roti's we have had on other islands, but more of a wrap. Delicious.
