We are back from 10 nights at Grand Lido Braco and suffering from DIF (dreaded island fever)! Jamaica was as beautiful as ever (our 7th trip to Jamaica, 3rd to Braco), the weather was lovely (sunny and hot), Braco was as always a charming and restful resort, and I am missing my favourite shady palm tree and relaxing with a glass of champagne and a good book! I am also wondering why room service hasn't showed up at my door since we have been home with our customary breakfast of croissants, fresh fruit, juice, and Blue Mountain coffee each morning, to enjoy on our balcony overlooking the beach and ocean ... is it possible to suffer from room service withdrawal?
While at Braco, we celebrated our anniversary and renewed our vows in the gazebo on the beach, on the same day we were married in Jamaica 5 years ago. I would recommend this to anyone who is considering it. The resort's wedding coordinator, Beverley, is a sweetheart. There is no extra charge for the renewal of vows - it is included in the cost of staying there. The resort arranges for the minister, provides a bouquet and boutonniere, decorates the area for the ceremony with fresh flowers and palm fronds, wedding cake, and champagne. Very romantic!
Already counting down the days until next April when we will return to Jamaica ...
