Puerto Plata Beaches

Hi how are Puerto Plata Beaches? Heard it is rocky and not flat and sandy. I'm looking for long walking beaches and good resort in Puerto Plata. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I`m going back to Puerto Plata next month, been there once in 2004. The beaches are great, some are rocky ( long beach, costambar, Cofresi ) while others are sandy and stunningly beautiful ( Sosua, Cabarete ). There`s more than one beach in these destinations, check them all while staying there. I found lots of nice pics of the one in Sosua at https://sites.google.com/site/sosuavillaforrent/sosua/sosua-beach
beware there`s vendors coming at you but a firm NO will keep them away.

Definilly there is a lots of more beaches, as wordltraveler64 said cabarete is a very nice sandy beach, and cabarete is a long and nice beach.
