Please help can't find return air for Houston from St. Maarten
Looking for best roundtrip air from Houston Intercontinental to St. Maarten for Oct. Problem is on the return flight from St. Maarten to Houston I can't find ANY flights that can get me home same day. Any suggestions

It would help to know what day of the week you were trying to return from SXM. A quick search on kayak.com and I see AA with a daily flight arriving HOU at 10:50PM. USAirways has a few flights a week getting in at 11:44PM.

It would be very expensive, but I"m almost certain that you can take an early morning nonstop from SXM to JFK or EWR and then get to Houston by that night, as insane as that sounds. With all the flight cutbacks on American, you may have real difficulty getting back the same day. I suspect you could easily do it by spending the night somewhere.

I saw a flight Houston-Miami-SXM leaves at 5:50 AM, arrives 2pm, so it's roughly about 6 1/2 hours trave time, including layover. (of course, add 2 hours to your "body" time for time zone changes.) this was on AA.
Return on a Sat-leaves 3:10 SXM, arrives Houston 11:30-so about 8 hours travel time.
So not all day-in all actuallity-not much more travel time than from the East coast.
You may also want to break up the airlines-try for example, something like Airtran or SouthWest to Miami, then AA from Miami to SXM. This may lessen the time, or may even save a little money-but the negative is not guarantee the flights if you miss a connection.
You may also want to consider a travel agent-while you pay for the service, might be worth to not have to travel all day.
