Playa Calets, Veredaro, Cuba - any advice?

Our trip is planned for 1 week - Jan. 18th at Playa Caleta. For anyone who has been there recently, any suggestions to improve our stay? Also, what excursions are offered and what are the best to take? There are six of us from 30 - 55.
