Planning stages... would love opinions and advice
My husband and I are in our early 40's without children. We've been wanting to take a trip to the beach for a while. We always travel in off season to save $$. For example, we normally go to Scottsdale in the summer and hang out by the pool for a week or plan city trips like Paris in February.
We are planning on early September and will be flying from Chicago. This will be our first trip to an island.
After looking at all the usual suspects(hawaii, mexico, caribbean), I've decided on Turks and Caicos. It's the first island I've researched that seems a perfect fit for us. We enjoy peace and quiet, hanging out together, relaxing, reading, playing in the water. We are conscious of how we spend our money and would rather stay in a nice space(resort with amenities) rather than eat out every night, if that makes sense. So, with that, I am hoping you all can lend me your opinions and advice.
We want to stay somewhere on the beach with a view at a place that offers nice beach lounging (preferably at no additional cost), bikes to ride into town, and paddle boards/kayaks. I would like to keep the accommodation cost under $3000-3500 for 7 nights. Anything over that and my husband may have a heart attack. I'm not opposed to renting a condo/villa, as long as it provides the few things we desire.
I've read many times over that we will need to rent a car. I'm not opposed to renting one for a part of our trip. I just don't want to have to jump in the car every time we want to do something, hence the bikes.

Vrbo.com has some 1 bedroom units at Royal West Indies and Ocean Club West. Both central located, walk to many things. Forget studio units, you won't be able to cook and eat in them, so you have to go up to a 1 bedroom.
Many resorts will have some specials. Facebook offers plenty to those that "like" their page. Others if you call direct you'll get the best price.
Your budget is plenty for a nice property on Grace Bay in spetember.
Keep in mind it's hurricane season, which is why prices are much lower. Simply get hurricane insurance just in case.
Start a search with wherewhenhow.com to get started about places to stay, eat, excursions.
Off you still can't narrow down, try Turksandcaicosreservations.com. They will also know of specials and perks.

Hi George. Because of our jobs, it's very difficult for us to get away. I'm a commission sales person without paid vacation and can only plan trips during slow times. August/September are usually the best since it's slow for both of us. We understand the risks.
I think I've got it down to two resorts but keep waffling a bit. I like the feel and look of one but like the location better on the other. Tough choices.
