Planning A College Graduation Trip In May

Family of 4. Both kids are in their early 20's. Budget up to $6k. Looking at 7 nights in Mid-Late May. Dates flexible. Want something reasonably priced. Not really looking at AI, but certainly could if it was the right deal. Tend to like places with kitchens so we can eat in and go out occasionally. Flying from Nashville.

Daughter wants a "beach vacation". Not looking for the "party islands". Just something fun, safe, laid back.

Took family to Grenada two years ago for my son's High School graduation and she loved that. In fact, she said "can't we go back to Grenada".

Trying to find something new for us. Thinking right now about St. Lucia, maybe Turks and Caicos? Thinking late May is fairly safe Hurricane wise.

Any suggestions on locations or accommodations would be greatly appreciated!

I suggest browsing caribbeantraveller.com for accommodation ideas at a reasonable cost. the site is simple (and albeit a little out-dated aesthetically) but it is actually pretty accurate with the information provided. I live in the Cairbbean; in Barbados actually. Can vouch for the validity of the accommodations in St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent & Grenadines and Barbados. ; )

Saint Lucia has so much wonderful things to make a vacation fun for a family .

Also it has beautiful beaches but not the clear blue turquoise waters that many prefer . If the colour of the beaches aren't a deal breaker , t he island offers so much natural beauty to explore.

For a laid back beach vacation, Barbados offers crystal clear blue waters and white sand, a few island tours for a quite fun family holiday as well.

Delishbajansauce: Some good suggestions! Thanks. Any experiences with Turks and Caicos? Seems like it would be similar to Barbados. Get they both can expensive.

Turks would be nice in May. Not sure what your budget is but many condo style hotels on grace bay to choose from. Another suggestion would be Grand Cayman. I would look into condos on 7 mile beach.

Grand Cayman is a very laid back island with lots of choices for condo rentals. The island has the most beautiful water and snorkeling is great!Food was very good and people friendly. Not the bar scene, but more like casual beach bars. I think it would be a nice place to relax and snorkel, sun, beach for a week!
