Phone calls Aruba to NY

Does anyone know what the approximate cost of a phone call from Aruba to NY would be? I'm trying to decide if I should just use the phone in my hotel room or if it is worth renting a cell from Aruba Fast Phones. Looks like it is about 24 cents a minute for the cell pluse a $50 rental fee. I will have to call NY once a day during my trip. Thanks.

you can get a phone card I think it is called a Ventha card. You can buy a $10.00 card and I think it is good for about an hour. You can use it from most hotel rooms. The hotel may charge a fee to connect, check with them and see how much it is. We usually give the card away at the end of the trip so any unused time is not wasted.

Lisa,
Not sure where they sell the calling cards, ask someone at your hotel.

Whatever you do,I would suggest NOT calling from your hotel. We paid a $15 connect fee everytime we called home...and that did not include the additional charges for the minutes.

There is a phone place in the shopping center next to the Alhambra Casino that charges 25 cents a minute to call anywhere in the USA. There is also a phone place in the back of the Royal Plaza in town that charges 25 cents a minute. Both these places also have internet booths. I have used both places.

LisaGee,

We didn't pay anything to call from the room. Just ask at the front desk if there is a charge. If it is too high you can use the card from a pay phone at the hotel. I think we got the card at a store across from the Hyatt area. I also think you can get them at the gas stations. Dont know whey you are going. We are leaving Saturday and I can give you more information when we get back if you havent left yet. Have a great trip.
