Passport Question - Travel to Bermuda in July

Hi all,

I've been trying to find definitive answers online, but so far have not.
If anyone has an answer to this - and a link to the legal info online - I would be so appreciative!!

Husband and I are travelling to Bermuda in July 2009.
I know we have to have passports now for this trip.
His passport expires in October 2009.

Is this ok?

Steviegene, I looked too - couldn't find anything more than the fact that you must have a round-trip ticket and a valid passport. The tourism website (www.bermudatourism.com) has an 800 number and (in tiny print on the bottom right of that home page) a 'contact us' option with an email option for questions. I'll try to find a local number for the tourism offices here and see what else I can find out.

I recommend you call a British consulate to make sure you get the correct answer. http://ukinusa.fco.gov.uk/en/our-off...ocationsin-us/

Have a great trip.

Thanks all, Ive been looking online and find no info about expiration dates at all.
When I call the consulate I'll post the answer for future reference.

The passport requirement depends on if you are traveling by air or by sea and the ages of the travelers. http://travelvaccineforum.wordpress....da-and-mexico/
Obviously, better to find out this stuff in advance.

Well, the consulate is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to.
But the tourism office says its no problem.
I'll keep trying for an official answer.

Hi Steviegene,
Having travelled to Bermuda just two weeks ago, I remembered reading somewhere about valid passports. I just
found the document from my tour company. It states that"Many destinations require passports to be valid at least 6 months beyond the completion of travel date." The Bermuda Dept. of
Tourism would give you the proper information on requirements for their island. As txgirlinbda suggested, they
would be the ones to contact. Try their 800 number.
Another website to try is HTTP://www.TRAVEL.STATE.GOV

hi, well, you wouldn't believe it but my husband and I are also traveling to bermuda in july, my passport expired and I am submitting the paperwork for an expedited new one today; my husband's passport expires in august we had no idea that there may be a requirement that your passport would have to be valid after your returned from a destination. Steviegene, did you get an official answer?

I never got the consulate, I was put on hold and never actually got a real person.
But the Bermuda tourism office assures me that there is no problem, and they should know... As long as your passport doesn't expire while you are on your trip, you should be fine.
