I'm getting married in 10 days and I'm leaving for my honeymoon for the British West Indies on Monday, May 21. I sent in my application for my passport on March 1 and I have not recieved it yet. The tracker on the gov. site states it's being "processed." I'm nervous and really stressed over this I could just cry! I'm thinking of scheduling an appointment at one of the passport agencies, even if I have to stand in line for 12 hours. Can you get a passport through an agency if you've already submitted the application? Any advice would be appreciated - I'm desperate.

Easiest way to find out is to call them. I just used a passport service in R.I. called Passport Express. No appointment necessary. No line. Call in number available to answer questions after hours. If you google them, I believe they have a web site.
If you are within 14 days of travel, call them (the phone number is on the website) with the application number(s) and they can pull up the status of them. They can then put a "rush" on them if the agency determines they would not make it to you before travel. I have heard of a story of the agency same-day Fed Ex to get passports to a couple leaving for Negril the next morning.
You need to call them right away since you are leaving in two weeks. They should be able pull your applications, finish processing them and expedite them to you in time. I would anticipate an extra charge and to be on hold for quite a long time. My husband's passport got lost in the mail recently and we spent another $200 to get another one expedited. What a nightmare. Good luck, Im sure everything will work out fine, just get on that phone now!
