Palm Island fire
Has anyone been to Palm Island since they had a fire in the Royal palm kitchen a month ago? Our travel agent emailed to tell us today & we are a bit worried , as that is their main kitchen. She has been very reassuring & assures us that by the time we visit in May all should be well, but just wondered whether anyone has visited in the last month.
Thanks for any help

Hi sandy
Are you going at the beginning of May too? I have emailled the resort & they sent back an attachment about the fire, but it was just hieroglyphics! So i replied, but have yet to hear.

yes, we are arriving on the 6th for our wedding/honeymoon and hope this will not be an issue. There is a recent posting on Trip Advisor regarding this and that is a cause for some concern. Something in the posting about the manager being fired...hoping for the best. Will you be on Palm at the same time?

hi Sandy
didn't see you there, but what did you think. We were very disappointed in the food & we should have been told that one kitchen was completely out of action. hope your wedding went well, wish I could have seen it. The island is beautiful & great beaches. Let me know what you thought.

Good Morning Diane, We stopped on a day boat trip at Palm Island to pick up a British couple last week. I can only tell you what they told us. They were not informed that the main kitchen burned completely. As a result, they said the meals were not as advertised. They were quite disappointed. They said the meals were fine, but just not what they expected. Owa
