Hello again,

Sorry I can't help with resorts for your trip - my youngest is 16 and we try to avoid anywhere that encourages 'little darlings'

I'm sure if you give us more info that you'll get lots of answers, but not until tomorrow - it's a quiet board this time of night.

Where are you flying from?
How long is your trip?
Do you want or do you dislike AI?
Any activities you want to do?
Are you looking at a resort or a villa?
Where have you been with your 'little darlings' and where did you/they like?

Can't think of any thing else - Good luck.

Hi! We're looking for a 6d 5 night stay, flying from Newark, don't want to do much but relax and let the kids enjoy the beach/ pool at a pretty much self contained spot. Been to St John with them, Disney, Jersey beaches. They're (truly) really good and are just as much in need of a vaca as we are!!

inasmom - I would try the Dominican Republic. I went a few years ago with a group of friends and it was the most relaxing vacation I have ever taken. We stayed at the Paradisus which is one of the more expensive resorts but on a great beach with a great pool. It is a short trip from NY (we fly out of Jfk 10/29/05). There isnt much to do off of the resort so you dont feel guilty just relaxing.

Haven't been to Grand Bahama in a while, but Our Lucaya is very family-oriented. With kids that young, there will be plenty to keep them occupied. The island itself is pretty but not that interesting, except for a neat archeological discovery in mangroves, and just beyond that a splendid white sand beach.

Would I be better off considering Nassau or somewhere else like T&C or the DR or even Puerto Rico? I want a reasonably short flight and no hassles or cheesy, dirty rooms!

inasmom: Our Lucaya is VERY nice.
The pool at the Sheraton is more kids-oriented. The pools at the Westin are more for adults, but kids can use of course. Both properties are next to each other and you can use each other's facilities.
We stayed at the Westin which had nice, spacious, clean rooms. It's a well-maintained property with a beautiful beach with calm, blue, clear waters.
There are lots of small shops and restaurants across the street.
Safe area, no peddlers on the beach or at the market across the street.
Would highly recommend.

I recommend Beaches Turks and Caicos! But, if that is too pricey, I would recommend a large all inclusive in the Mayan Riviera south of Cancun such as one of the Iberostars!
