Opinions please! Hotel in Bermuda - Family time
We are heading to Bermuda for a wedding in June and bringing our two kids this time! We now have reservations at the Hamilton Princess (we previously stayed at Cambridge Beaches sans children) but I've also looked at Pompano Beach.
Any suggestions? Kids are 9 and 11.
Thanks for your opinions!

I think the Southhampton Princess would be better. That being said, I have not been to the Hamilton one. The Southampton Princess is away from the city, but an easy bus ride. It has the beach, pools and shops.
We have also taken our kids to the Reefs, but that was really an adult hotel. We had the only kids outside of my brother's children.
I think Elbow beach would be great too, because it has a great beach.

CMoran how did you like Cambridge Beaches. I have stayed at Hamilton Princess for 5 nights and Southampton Princess for 5 nights both on different occasions. I liked the Hamilton location because it was in town and you could walk anywhere you wanted to go but the SH location is probably best for you with the two kids. It's a short shuttle ridge to the beach but the golf course if around the hotel. There are more dining choices at SH also. I want to go back myself soon and I would like to stay at CB or The Reefs. I spent one night at Elbow Beach and I was not impressed. I have looked at Pompano Beach also but the rooms are all on a hillside going straight down to the beach. They did build some new rooms recently though. If I go back it will be Reefs or CB.

But I didn't have any kids with me. Bermuda is a fantastic place. Good luck.

Cmoran, What kind of an atmosphere are you looking for? While we didn't stay at the Southampton Princess we golfed there and the atmosphere seemed to be more upscale, resort-like (just my impression from walking through). We stayed at Pompano last summer -- I would say perfect with kids (we have no kids and noted plenty of them having a good time). Pompano was more casual and relaxed. The tradeoff is probably that while very comfortable, it did not "impress" in terms of "first class" accommodations. Just my take..

Hi all...just wanted to thank you - We decided on the Pompano.
I loved CB but decided it was not the atmosphere for the kids. We would love to return there someday - also it is even further out than the Pompano! Food is very good and the grounds are just lovely.
I did check out Coco Reefs - great beach and right next to Elbow but had some negative reviews on TA regarding rooms and bugs - not worth the worry.
So we are off June 13th for the wedding and I'll report back on our findings!
