A lot of people are asking the same question. It may be fine but we switched our reservation because we could not even get a brochure and read some negative comments on the web that were recent. But as with any opinion you have to consider the source which in this case I couldn't since I dont know the writers of the comments, Good luck and enjoy your trip, John

We are also planning a trip to St. Lucia. We are going the first week of July. I am very unsure if I want to book my holiday at the Odyssey. I have seen some awful reviews on the internet. Can anyone who has been to the hotel recently please help? I have read that there is a children's camp located in the hotel in July. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Maragret, Until they get the Odyssey resort straightnened out make another choice. We switched to the Wyndham, Morgan Bay and it was great. Ask for the rooms on the top floor they have cathedral ceilings and a great view. Hot tip room 388! end room and terrific view to mpountains from the door and the carribean from the balcony and br window, Enjoy John
Oh yes, We made a point of visiting the Odessey and when we did we left with an unfavaorable impression.

I have just gotten back from the Odyssey. It depends what you are looking for in a resort. I thought it was just ok, and was glad that I split my time between here and Ladera. B
Beaches on St. Lucia aren't that great to start with, but this beach had many rocks when you first started entering the water. The water is very cloudy, you will need to snorkel at the south end of the island. For activities they had a ton. This was probably the best part of the resort. Most entertainment at night though was geared towards kids or shows including guests instead of just have a band play music. Food was a hit or miss depending on what they served.
If I had gone to the Odyssey a few years back I probably would have liked it better, but now my husband and I tend to expect more. On another forum someone put it that the Odyssey is a good all inclusive for families or beginner travelers "those who don't expect the high life". We choose the Odyssey because after staying at the Ladera, we wanted to watch our money. For the price you pay, it is worth it. But if I could do it again, I would have spent a little bit more and stayed somewhere in Rodney Bay, I think those resorts are a step up from the Odyssey, but not too much more in price.
