Has anyone stayed at the Oceania residences in Aruba? I've seen some great reviews and the condos look nice. My two concerns are that you cross a street to get to the beach (is it a big deal?) and possible construction. We are a family of four, w/ 1 yr old and a 3 yr old. We prefer condo (w/ kitchen) to hotels, but also like having a pool and a few simple amenities. Most important is a nice beach to sit on all day with the kids! Thanks!

I have never stayed at Oceania but I have stayed next door at LaQuinta. Crossing the street is not a big deal at all. The beach is one of the best on Aruba at that point. Bring water toys from home for the little ones.
Thanks shirleyk! This would be our first time to Aruba. Since you stayed in the same area, is it easy to go without a rental car? The condos look very close to the airport and I've read that buses are easy...we'd just want to get to the grocery store now and then.
My guess is that Oceania is about 5 or 6 miles from the airport. A couple miles to town, a couple miles through town and then a couple of miles to Oceania. But I'm only guessing. Buses are easy and inexpensive, the closest grocery stores are probably two or three miles. But let me add this: By the time you take a taxi from the airport and back to the airport, and a couple of times back and forth to the grocery store and a few times out of dinner you could rent a car. We usually get one right at the airport and drop it off right at the airport, thus saving all taxi fares. We have never gone without a rental car.
