November vacation - where to go?
Hi - my husband and I are planning a vacation for our 10th year anniversary and aren't sure where to go. We'll be going mid November for about a week. We're looking for higher end that has good food, great beaches / pool. Suggestions on islands / hotels? Any thoughts to get us started?? Thanks!!

We need more info, but the higher end upscale islands
Anguilla
St. Barth (not big on pools though)
Turks and Caicos
The above also have the best restaurants.
All islands have an upscale resort though.

Hi - we actually stayed at CuisinArt on our honeymoon - it was amazing, but we would like to try something other than Anguilla on this trip. Would you recommend St. Barts or T&C over Mexico (Zoetry or Rosewood Mayakoba)? We're flying from the East coast so the location of the Carribbean is easy. Please let me know what other info you might need to advise on this - thank you!!!

I personally prefer Turks over St. Barth.
St Barth has better restaurants, but the ones in Turks are outstanding anyway.
Turks has much better beaches and much better pools.
You get more for your money too at Turks out of the resorts.
High end resorts for you to check (depending on what you're looking for, different personalities)
Grace Bay Club (3 pools 1 with swim up bar)
Seven Stars (biggest pool from choices)
Point Grace (gorgeous pool Zen atmosphere)
Somerset (infinity zero entrance pool, lap pool with resistance)
Regent Palms (cool beach pod beds, swim up bar, tables and seats in the water, hot tub)
Gansevoort ( little deck islands with individual lounge chairs, South Beach vibe)
Amanyara is nice but it's a long expensive ride to all the great beaches.
A great vacation, feels like 2 in 1 would be a split, Parrot Cay with one of the above.
Restaurants you do not want to miss
Coco Bistro
bay Bistro
Coyaba
Also check out. Www.WhereWhenHow.com click on current issue, many pictures of everything Turks. Yu can also email and get a hard copy sent to you, you'd get it within 2 weeks.

I'm the polar opposite of blamona - I much prefer St. Barths over the Turks & Caicos. For me the island has it all - very nice beaches, turquoise waters, a fantastic selection of restaurants, plenty of water sports, great shopping, excellent options in resorts, hotels and/or rental villas. For us it's as good a Caribbean location as it gets.
And, yes St. Barths over Mexico any day of the week.

Ditto everything RoamsAround said. If you want a purely beach vacation you can't do much better than Turks & Caicos. But if you're looking for great beaches, fabulous restaurants, abundant shopping and a fun, French-tinged atmosphere, then St. Barths is your place.
I can highly recommend Eden Rock from personal experience. We wanted to be on St. Jean Beach and there is no better place to be on that beach. Lots of restaurants and bars are within walking distance and the hotel itself is special. No two rooms are alike and each has its own personality. Service was fantastic, the restaurants were wonderful.... Well, I could go on but you get the picture.
We've also stayed at Cap Juluca, Cuisinart and Caneel Bay from RoamsAround's list above and Point Grace from blamona's list. Eden Rock is easily our favorite.
