Has anyone spent New Years Eve at an all inclusive in the Dominican Republic or any other all inclusive. We are looking at the Excellence Punta Cana (adults only). We are a group of 6 seniors (65-70) who are tired of the same old thing here in the states and were looking for a change but wanted to make sure that there would be some celebration taking place at midnight. Would appreciate views from anyone who has done this or thoughts on the topic

I just got back from Punta Cana. My sisters - 4 of us who range from 49 to 59 stayed here with my 81 year old Mother. we stayed at the Majestic Elegance. I suggest this hotel because it's not a monsterous property like others on Punta Cana. I would suggest springing for an Elegance Club upgrade and I would book a room closest to the beach (Elegance Club rooms)....the elegance club buildings (there are 3 of them) are separate buildings that always has food, beverages, free internet, and personnel to assist with daily newspaper delivery, restaurant reservations etc. It's also a lounge atmosphere with couches to relax on...has a great patio, steps to the bar, pool, and beach.
The rooms are clean, big and spacious...I would book a swim up junior suite room. The rain shower is amazing.
The beach is beautiful...sand like flour, clear aqua water - you can walk forever...
The food was a tad above average -not fine dining, but good. They have 5 restaurants.....Japanese including sushi and teppan grill, french, italian, and a steakhouse...and there is always a buffet - in the main building and in another restaurant by the ocean.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I'd be glad to share my experience.

The new Hard Rock will have more action
Either will be fine based on what you want.
Have fun!
I went to the Hard Rock while I was there...the place is massive.....if you want to ride a golf cart around.....too big....and the place is cold and hard - like a cell block....not caribbean style.....
