New to the Caribbean - help picking an island for November

hi all... my husband and I would like to go to the Caribbean in November for a week to make up for a lost summer vacation this year. I've never been to the Caribbean and I am a bit lost about where to start in picking an island. It's overwhelming and there are so many beautiful places. We are in our mid-30s, no kids. We are more interested in romantic and relaxation than in partying. We're not really interested in casinos or bars though other activities are a plus - historical towns or shopping. .Mostly, we want to relax, spend time on the beach and gardens, sit in the sun, and would prefer to stay away from areas with a lot of cruise ships.

For accommodations, we can spend up to $350/night or so. A pool is great, close to the beach. We can't 'check out' too much unfort - still need to be near wi-fi.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you have... thanks!!!
