Which one, what island?
Oops - St Kitts - sorry.
See the thread titled "An Islanders Impression - St. Kitts". She has some info on the Marriott there.
I have also read in the local island newspaper that the opening date keeps getting pushed back, so they're not ready for business just yet. I think they will begin taking reservations for spring, 2003, but the entire resort won't be complete then, from what I've read.
You can also do a text search on this forum since I've seen several threads relating to this property.
Good luck.
The Marriott in St. Kitts is not open to the general public until some time late this spring. They hope to have a "soft" opening Feb.22nd for it's contractors, family's and employees to work out the many "bugs" they will have but it doesn't look good. It's a wait and see game.
I will be staying at this property from April 16th - April 25th. They have a fantastic rate availible due to being freshly open to introduce the property. I was told when I called their temporary office in New Jersey that all the BUILDINGS are finnished but they are still working on the interiors of the Spa and a restaraunt or two. They also said there should not be loud noises, construction people running about, or visualy unapealing conditions due to this work. Since I'm going mainly for what the Islans have to offer, not a hotel, the rate made it perfect for me (under $125.00 per night - next year it will be $300.00+ per night).
The Marriott will open this Saturday Feb.22nd. It is a "soft" opening with some rooms, restaurant and the casino will be open in full force. The golf course front 9 only will be open. They hope to have the complete complex open by mid or so this summer.
