Negril vs. Montego Bay? Nightlife?
Hello! So I'm planning on going to Jamaica for my 21st birthday and have been wondering about a few things.
Negril or Montego Bay? Which has the better night life?
I've seen tons of all inclusive resorts in Montego Bay, but can't seem to find many in Negril. Any recommendations? Would Jamaica be a fun place to spend a 21st birthday?
Thanks!

My recommendation is strongly in favor of Negril. And you don't necessarily need an all-inclusive. Look at this website and go to the maps of the hotels and resort, click on each one to see the kinds of places. And the video on the main page for a glimpse of Negril.

No comparison. You're turning 21? Go to Negril! Non-stop music at many clubs on the beach, and much more festive atmosphere. Plus the beach is much nicer than most in/around Montego Bay.
As Suze mentioned, an AI is not necessary. Look at some of the smaller hotels on the beach - Coco La Palm, Rondel Village, Whistling Bird, etc.

I think you'd miss out on much of what makes Negril so special if you stay at an All-Inclusive resort. There's all kinds of wonderful local bars, cafes, restaurants... both on the 7-mile beach, in the small town, and up on "The Cliffs" at the west end.
If you can't find a place to party in Negril, you're just not trying

Negril is fantastic. And the One Stop website really gives a good overview of all that is available there.
I've been just 3 times, spread out years apart, but it's always been captivating there. Biggest challenge is deciding if you want to stay "on the Beach" or "on the Cliffs"! I used Clive's for going from and back to the MoBay airport.

rice68~ There's also a very friendly and helpful Trip Advisor forum under the Negril destination. My most recent trip (a reunion with friends from all over) I planned mostly using that forum, in addition to One Stop for finding lodging.
