Negril for 2 24yr old girls?

We wondering a/b the the nightlife in Negril and Jamiaca in general. Fun for two girls in their mid-twenties or is it more honeymoon-y?

You've definately picked a gool locale. Negril has good nightlife for you both. There's plenty of action along the beach at night. Check out Negril.com for further information.

Just pick a resort that's in the middle of everything.

Andrea is right. Negril is a great place for nightlife and also has some of the best warm climate beaches in the world.

Are you insane? Do you not have parents to advise you against such foolishness?

Two young girls should not be in Jamaica period. Bad things will most definitely happen to you.

Shari -- you might want to consider staying in the beach end of Negril as opposed to the cliffs end -- it's definately closer to the action. I'm a few years older than you are, and I wasn't partaking of the local smoke, but I never felt unsafe (except when crossing the street! Those roads are crazy!). The only place I experienced extremly aggressive vendors was in the craft market.

I'm not a Negril expert (I just returned from my first trip), but our hotel (The Rockhouse) was predominately couples. It was also pretty quiet, despite being fully booked, and people didn't mingle much.

I would definately head the The Rockhouse for dinner some night -- the food was incredible.

Next time I think I want to split my visit between the beach and the cliffs!

HTH,
Racy

Did you find the whole place a bit quiet or just your hotel?

Truthfully, we didn't venture off the property too much -- I was totally beat by the time we got there and just wanted to relax!

We did go down to the beach one day, and the location we selected (by Cosmo's) was very quiet -- mostly Jamacian families.

Remember that I was there over Thanksgiving, so the crowd wasn't tremendously young (or was families). I've heard Spring Break is nuts!

We didn't go out at night because the weather was rainy in the evening and most of the reagge venues are outdoors (except The Jungle, which is a hip-hop club). I would have like to have gone out once sufficiently rested, but after a few happy hour drinks and a fabulous Rockhouse meal, we were too darn tired!

HTH,
Racy

There's plenty of nightlife in Negril, it's just mainly NOT in the resorts.

The beach definitely has more going on than the cliffs, though it can be nice to party on the beach and return to yur quiet, peaceful and private-grounds cliff accomodation.
