I'm looking for a vacation spot w/ beaches and things to do (snorkel, massage, quiet, maybe a painting class) without lots of children. By myself, so don't want to worry about safety and would like to stick around the resort. Not looking for a frat party. Thanks!
Needing vacation by myself?

One of my all-time favorite places to go in the world. On a drop dead gorgeous beach on a small quiet island in the Bahamas. It is lovely!
This link is not working for me. Are you sure this is right?
For Pink Sands, you can also try to get them through www.islandoutpost.com. On that site are other resorts that are a collection of Chris Blackwells smaller resorts located here and there in the islands. Compass Point in Nassau is a great spot - really nice, smaller, quieter resort. Also, I just read a great review and recieved pictures of the Caves in Negril, which is a nice area. It looks sooooooooo terrific! If you would like to see the pic's, just let me know!
As for getting a massage, Grand Lido San Souci, Le Sport, Rendavous all come to mind.
Yes.....I'm sorry.....they must have changed something. At anyrate you can get to them via www.islandoutpost.com.
The beach on Harbour Isle is to die for!

That beach on Harbour Isle is unbelievable.
I would recommend Caneel Bay on St. John -- it has everything you listed. Just came back from there last week and had a very relaxing time.
Galley Bay in Antigua is a lovely, all-inclusive, self-contained resort with superb food, first class service and a mature, but not ancient clientele. Extremely relaxing.
Watercolor workshops run by two Boston-based gallery artists are scheduled to be run late Jan/early Feb at JAKE'S,
Treasure Beach, the South Coast of Jamaica with plenty of snorkeling, masseurs, masseuses, even a tropical steam bath, plus some of the friendliest people on the island. See the Treasure Beach community Web site at www.treasurebeach.net and click back in the FORUM section for info on Bob and Ginny Minehan's workshops. You needn't stay at Jake's to partake -- and there are lots of small laid-back charming and safe places in the area for accomodations.
