We are looking at spending New Years in Curacao after spending Christmas week on Bonaire. The only place that seems to have rooms that we can afford still open is the Howard Johnson's Resort & Casino downtown. Their ads say all rooms face the floating bridge. Has anyone stayed at this resort that can advise if its a wise choice for my wife & I? Also what are the highlights that we should see during the three days that we will be there. After a week of diving Bonaire we will be looking for beach time/snorkeling and sightseeing. Does Curacao have fireworks for New Years Eve?
Thanks for any help you all can give us.

i have no answers to your question just wanted to suggest you repost it under a title like fireworks in curacao or new year in the abc's. something to catch the attention of ppl who will know.
I will be on Curacao during New Years, the tourist board indicated to me that there would be fireworks and that most hotels will have parties. Check with tripadvisor.com and do a search for the Holiday Inn, it received mixed reviews.
