My husband and I are planning a five day trip in November and would like to go to an adult all-inclusive resort. We live in the midwest, so the best choices seem to be the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos Islands, or the Bahamas in terms of a reasonable flight, so we don't spend most of the time traveling. We are in our mid-40's and we enjoy snorkeling. We don't need a casino and aren't big partiers. Looking for a more relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Want an all-inclusive, so everything is included. Would appreciate recommendations as there seem to be many to choose from.

On Turks & Caicos the ONLY Adult only is Club Med. -- beautiful long stretch of beach BUT, it is older and rooms are very basic, no frills type. If you are 100% on all inclusive look at the new Veranda resort-they allow children but, in November they should be in school!
Check out the brand new all-inclusive resort, The Veranda, in Providenciales, TCI (Turks and Caicos). They aren't even listed here yet. It's small; exclusive, beautiful Grace Bay beach that's nearly private on their section; great food and drinks (name brand liquor if you like a nice cocktail); concierge service, they actually give you a phone to call them for anything you need; shuttle service for snorkeling excursions; and I think they have a sale on.... The kids are in a kid's club with their own activities so you shouldn't see many of them...
I suggest you consider the Riviera Maya area of Mexico. Mexico has the best adult only AI's of any of the Islands and much less expensive.
The fav's are the Royal Playa del Carmen, Secets Maroma, El Dorado Maroma and the Iberostar Grand Parsiao.
We've been to Sandals in Nassau, which was fine, but over priced in our opinion. The Veranda wasn't there when we went to T & C, so we went non-AI and didn't like that aspect. I don't care for the DR. Too many issues.
The DR and T&C are different as far as the beaches and water T & C will have white beaches and beautiful turquoise water and nice snorkeling. I would say look into Beaches even though kids can go there you will be off season and there usually are not many kids since most are in school. They should have some sales going on check for them as the resort can be $$ to stay at. For DR I would suggest looking into the Excellence Punta Cana this is a smaller resort but very nice and it is Adults only and All inclusive. I believe DR will be less money than T&C. We enjoyed both islands I would give the edge to T&C though. Good Luck
Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been looking at The Veranda on T&C. It looks like to would work and it looks beautiful. If anyone has stayed there, can you tell me what activities are included in the room rate. Also what are the restaurants like?
Trip Advisor seems to have more reviews, I'd check there
Can anyone tell me the best all inclusive adults only to stay at in Punta Cana on Bavaro Beach?
I've stayed at several AI's over the years (mostly in Mexico). I was at the Iberostar Grand in Punta Cana last year and thought it was by far one of the best I've visited...adults only per your requirement, great food and nice rooms. I have generally not been a fan of the DR as the service and food generally aren't as good as the places in Mexico but this was the exception. We were there over New Years so didn't do any snorkeling (although I don't think that area is particularly known for it) but I would definitely look at this as an option. That said, the beach, ocean and snorkeling in the Turks is going to far surpass the DR but at a higher price. I considered the Veranda for my wedding and it looks great.
Chcek out www.GrandVelas.com....very very nice!
You might look at some of the resorts on Harbour Island. You can get a "plan" there which includes breakfast and dinner so you can put your wallet in the safe and not worry. Also several of the resorts are on the plan as well so you can try some of the other restaurants on island.
Try this website, www.runawayhill.com and www.myharbourisland.com. Runway is a small boutique Inn right ON the water, and no kids.
Have a great time.
I just booked Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana for next year...check that out.
Peace, greenie
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic has the best all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean I say. Though adult only Im not sure.
St. Maarten has some places on the French side that are catered to adults, such as Orient bay (Nudist as well), and some other places in the beautiful little village of grand case.
