I'll be returning to St Barths with friends for a much-awaited visit in February 2004. Our hostess will be celebrating her birthday on the day we arrive and we would love to surprise her with a birthday cake. Is there a local bakery you would recommend where we could preorder a surprise cake for her? Thanks for any suggestions/ideas.
Need local bakery suggestion for bday cake

La Petite Colombe Boulangerie in Colombier is our favorite. Know that unless you specify otherwise "happy birthday" will be in French.
Phone from US: 011 590 590 27 95 27, and speak slowly, very accomodating people this this Bakery.
I forget the name of the place, but there's a really great bakery on the road to Colombier. You leave Gustavia heading towards Colombier, and it's on the left after leaving the airport area. I know that's vague, but if you head that way I think you'll find it. We oftentimes pick up some breakfast croissants there in the morning.
Thanks very much, caribcouple and caf! I really appreciate your help.
I didn't see caribcouple's response before I posted--but that's the exact same bakery I was thinking of, except caribcouple has much better info!
