Could someone tell me what the climate is like in April, when is the rainy season, and is the water warm in April? I would also like to know if there are a lot of water activities around the Marriott and if there is good snorkling there. Any help would be appreciated.

Climate is relatively the same all year round on St. Kitts. Expect temps in the mid-to high 80's, plenty of sunshine (it's quite strong and feels hotter than it is - you'll need plenty of sunblock), an occasional very brief and very localized showers which usually last less than 10 minutes (it's not unusual for it to rain in one place and be sunny and dry 1/4 mile away). Water temps will be comfortable. Not sure what you mean by water activities but the Marriott is on the Atlantic side so there is swimming, limited snorkling and no boating. The best snorkling is on the Caribbean side of the island at Shitten Bay which is only reachable by boat. The Hotel will be glad to arrange for you to take one of the excursion trip (for a fee).
There are no water sports on the Atlantic side and too many undertows for snorkeling or swimming. As Sunnyboy mentioned, use the Caribbean side. A short walk to Timothy Beach is water sports and good snorkeling from Timothy Beach Resort around the point to South Frairs Beach. Shitten Bay is where the Catamaran to Nevis stops for an hour to snorkel.
There is also some decent snorkeling at Turtle Beach - southern tip of the island and some great views of Nevis.
I would be VERY leary of swimming at the Marriot - the Atlantic side has undertows and rip currents. Swimming is quite safe near the Timothy Beach Hotel (caribbean side)and at South Friars Bay and at Turtle Beach.
