We have a 12 and an 8 year old and want to go to the caribbean in July (the only time we have -- my concern is that lots of shops and restaurants will be closed then. Will this be the case?)
We are looking to avoid the singles and honeymoon crowd. We'd like an island that is good for families.
We like pristine beaches, lush nature, and things to do. We like quaint nightlife rather than glitzy. For the kids, a great resort would be one that has a few pools that flow into each other with waterfalls and other water features.
The kids do OK with upscale stuff so we don't need a kiddie resort. They would stay with us rather than do a kid's activity so we don't need a resort with kid's clubs.
St. Kitts or Nevis seem like a good choice but this is from what I can glean. I have never been to either.
Also, is there a web site that would have an abundance of pictures of the caribbean?
Thanks for any advice you could offer. You can also email me at gambonec@aol.com.
