We are looking to go to the Caribbean in February to escape the cold winter of the Northeast. We will be flying out of Boston.
We are hoping to find the perfect resort & island....
The resort must be on the beach, and must be at least a 4-5 start property. Marble bathrooms, and soft fluffy white robes are required.
We would like to be steps from the beach, but have a cement path leading from our door so we don't get sandy feet until we are on the beach. The beach itself must be soft, white, powdery sand that stretches for a long distance of at least a mile. The water must be crystal clear, and have world-class snorkeling. Looking for water that is completely free of sea-weed, and a beach that has no rocks or shells to hurt my feet. Oh, and drink & food service on the beach is a must!!
The resort must have outstanding service, and we want resort workers that speak perfect english. We expect 1st class service even if we are feeling grouchy ourselves.
The island must have tropical rainforests, and mountains with waterfalls. The roads must be easy to navigate, and it must be well marked so we don't get lost.
The locals must be friendly, and we will totally freak out if someone approaches us to buy drugs....we consider that very dangerous, and don't want to be subjected to such horror. We also would like a plethora of top end restaurants on the water, that have really low prices.
Activities are a must, and we want to be able to go fishing, golfing, surfing, horseback onthe beach, cliff jumping, scubadiving, snorkeling, beach vollyball, sky-diving, and of course a casino to keep us busy at night. The town should have plenty of beach bars directly on the water, with live reggae most nights.
Flying in from Boston, we only want direct flights with NO lay-overs anywhere. The flight must serve good food, and not leave any earlier than 9am....and be on the island by no later than 1pm.
We have a very large budget of $1200 for (both) of us and hope to find something for at least 10 nights, and this needs to include flights, hotel, all food & booze....and of course trip insurance. We figured February was the best time to get a good deal.
Please help us find our paradise.....

Too funny
I first I thought you were serious. Ha Ha! Love it!
What - you don't want the resort to be very secluded but within walking distance of plenty of shops, restaurants, water sports vendors and major tourist points of interest so you you don't have to rent a car?
Really a great post.
