Nassau Ferry

Can anyone tell me how far the ferry landing is from the Ocean Club?

Also, other than Ocean Club, are there any other low key hotels for adults that don't empty the bank account. Planning on spending first night in Nassau/Paradise Island and last night, 4 nights on Harbor Island.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Why do you ask about the ferry landing? You aren't taking the mailboat to Harbour Island, are you? Are you coming in on a float plane? Just want ot know so I can help answer your question.

Doug, you know way more than someone born there (me). Guess I haven't been back in too long- it's a distance from California. Good thing you read the post!

Karen, the ferry service is very good reliable and even (amazingly) on time. Just about the ONLY thing in the Bahamas that is real time.

The ferry is large and there is plenty of seating. They serve snacks and soft drinks (not sure about the Kalik, will have to ask about that one). As Doug said the trip is about 2 hours to the Harbour Island dock and a short cab ride to where you are staying. By the way where are you staying?

On Nassau, good and well priced you might try Compas Point, which is close to the airport. Or the British Colonial which is within walking distance to the ferry. The BC as locals call it is now part of the Hilton chain and was recently redone. It is a nice beach area only for use of guests with a great view of the harbour.

Have a wonderful time and if you need any other info on Harbour Island, please let me know.

I did Ocean Club-Pink Sands combo in July.Great way to mix it up.You'll really appreciate the serenity of Pink Sands after leaving Paradise Island. Its a good way to ease your way into vacation, get all the night life and action out of your system, then just chillout for a few days. But thats about all the quiet I can take is for a few days.

Back to your original question, when you check in at Ocean Club conciegre will set up ride to Bo Hengy ferry wich is a smooth ride. Also you might want to make your last day on PI so you dont have to play beat the clock trying to get to airport and lugging luggage around all day in the heat.

The fast ferry arrives in Nassau at 615 pm daily which is too late to catch a flight out of Nassau unless you are going to Florida
