mosquito? Taxi? car rental?

Arriving this Sunday to Provo-1 night in Provo,3-in Parrot Cay, 3-Regent Palms. Should we rent a car for the 3 days in the Regent Palms. We have 2 kids(7 &10). Is there stuff to do away from the hotel? We do not want to eat only at the hotel. IS the taxi cost reasonable? a car is $245 for 3 days. How is the mosquito situation?
