Melia Las Americas - Any Information?

We are thinking of going to the Melia Las Americas in Veradero? Does anyone have any information or advice about this resort? In particular, we're interested in any information about rooms, food (how the system works and quality), beach, weather, termperature of water, termperature at night, best location of rooms to request, insects, noise at night, service.
