Hi - regarding Isadore that hit Cuba, hopefully everyone got safely away from the keys and is allright. However, would like to know if anyone out there can comment on whether the resorts on Cayo Coco or Guillermo sustained any damage? Much thanks

The two hurricanes that have crossed Cuba recently came across the Isle of Youth (Isla Juventud) on the south coast and tracked westward over the Pinar del Rio area of Cuba. There was considerable damage in the Pinar del Rio area. This is almost 500 kilometres west of Cayo Coco. So other than some fringe rains, I don't believe that Cayo Coco would have suffered any damages at all. I have friends in Havana (only 150-200 kilometres from the Hurricane track) and they had some heavy rain, but nothing more than that.
Rest assured nothing happened in Cayo Coco (or Cayo Guillermo) because of the hurricanes. My parents are in Cayo Coco right now and they say it's beautiful there. My friends just got back from Varadero on Saturday and they said the weg (rained one day only). Everything is fine in Cayo Coco - Enjoy!
