My husband and I are going to Martinique for 1-2 weeks in December. Have narrowed it down to a few hotels -- looking for clean, A/C, nice, great pool(s), good food (doesn't have to be great, can go elsewhere to eat in the evening, but need to do breakfast and lunch there), nice people, good service.
Narrowed down to these 6:
Karibea Amandiers Resort,
Le Meridien Trois Islets,
Sofitel Bakoua,
Habitation LaGrange,
Novotel Carayou,
Hotel La Bateliere.
Very little out on the websites with reviews, a few, but really old stuff. Anyone been to any of these RECENTLY?
My husband will be tied up with business the first week, so I'll be at the pool ordering food and drinks the whole time by myself, then the second week, we'll be together. Any suggestions?

I can let you know in December----my cousin and wife are going to Sof. Bakou along with part of the time to Jalousie on STL. Not much interest on Martinique on this site----I have tried myself on some postings because I want to do a week in July 05 w/ 1 week in STL. I would pick Sofitel. Cap Est is just too expensive---- I emailed them and not deals to be had there. Of course the Euro is going up and now @1.30 to a USD---not good, but hotel rates are good on Mart.
You will absolutely LOVE the Jalousie Hilton in St. Lucia - have been there twice, and are planning to go back every 5 years! Don't rent a car, roads at night are awful - they have drivers you can "rent" at the Hilton - ask for Thadeus (tell him Russ + Jeanne Hayward recommended you) if he's still working there!
