margarita island golf

Is it worth lugging my golf clubs to play? If the course is nice i would play 4 or 5 times in 10 days.

I wouldn't bother dragging anything, including myself to margarita...now THERE is the armpit of the Caribbean.

it was the vaca from hell. If you aren't fluent in Spanish you've had it,compared to other islands the beaches and snorkeling sucked. WE got screwed over by the airlines, cab drivers and hotel in Caracas where we were stuck by the airline. I can't think of one positive thing to say about it and I have been around. Widely traveled.

Read above post...hotel was "5 star", couldn't find the beach, no decent liquor, mildewy, moldy, smelly walls. It took months to get the odor out of our luggage and other things. I never thought snorkel gear could reek! LOL. Like I said we have travelled extensively out of the country for many years and know what to expect, this just wasn't a good trip from the get go. They say that you either love Margarita or you hate it, there are a lot of people that love it. We will never return nor recommend it to anyone.

I think they have changed a lot since we were there. I think they have gone AI, they weren't when we were there.

It wasn't a bad place really, the beach was too far away, you had to take a tram or have a hell of a hike. The beach itself sucked. The pools were nice, but hey, I can stay home and sit by a pool. The room wasn't really bad, it was just musty and mildewy all over. It reeked. Consequently so did all our stuff. We had to wash even clean things we took home.

I hope you have a better experience with the island than we did. Go with a positive attitude and enjoy yourself. Not every one has bad experiences with it. Ours was just a disaster from the get go.I have talked to people that loved it and had a great time. I'm sure you will too. I'll be interested to hear about it, post when you get back.
