Luxury In The Carribean

I'm looking for a great spot to spend 5 days and by luxury I mean nice room, room service, private beach, good restaurants. No hassles, just to be pampered for 5 days. Have been to PSV and loved it, did not like Young Island, bad experience in Barbados. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Though I don't mean to sound like a shill for Malliouhana, please look at my response to the Feb. 17 question about where to stay on Anguilla. Malliouhana is really the best in the Caribbean for those who desire privacy, great food/wine, pampering, etc.

Princess Diana used to vacation at K Club on Barbuda. Also, Curtain Bluff is by far the most luxurious accomodation on Antigua.

Might want to check Biras Creek or Little Dix on Virgin Gorda, Guana Island (depends on your defination of "pampering" if that fits the bill), Cuisinart on Anguilla and if reopened in time for your trip, Cap Juluca. Rec'd two glowing reports about the "new" Jumby Bay on Antigua recently reopened under Elegant Resorts (Half Moon on Ja). Curtain Bluff on Antigua also or Coco Point Lodge on Barbuda. Depending on Season, Meridian Club or Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos (not winter as it is not Caribb!) Nisbet Plantation on Nevis since Four Seasons got Lennied. LeToiny or Carl Gustof on St. Barts but both have a drive to a beach as does Rawlins Plantation (cordon bleu meals)! Or the new Rosewood on Vieques ...

I would suggest Pink Sands on Harbour Island or Compas Point on Nassau in the Bahamas.

Pink Sands has everything you are looking for and more, it has been discovered by the celeb crowd, and I heard that Harry Conick, Jr was walking along the beach recently.

Last time I was there I met Michael Cain and Ed Bradley.

Very low key and laid back so you can just relax on the beach, swim, snorkle, scuba, or play some tennis.

If you go to the www.where2stay.com board and at the top of the board click on islands you can see rates and pictures of lots of resorts all over the Carribean.

Have a great trip wherever you choose to go.

tweedy

I suggest that you go back to PSV on their 7 night summer package at $3550 including tax service and meals for two. I don't think anything in the Caribbean can touch it for the things you are seeking and certainly at that price. You can't compare a small private island like PSV with its beauty, meals and service providing for only a limited amount of guests with any place else I know in the Caribbean. They have two people looking after your needs all of the time. When you said that you did not like Young Island and loved PSV, I know exactly what you would like. Of the small private islands the Meridian Club on Pine Cay and Guana Island offer some of the things you would like. Perhaps the Meridian Club comes the closest. However Pine Cay is not PSV from an beauty consideration. Also the rooms are a little modest in comparison. The cost is a bit higher and don't go in the winter as the ocean and the weather is on the chilly side. Guana is a beautiful island but you lack room service and you are up from the beach a major climb and again the rooms are modest in comparison. All of the rest of the places mentioned by others are top notch properties but most are larger and more commercial in character than the exquisite private atmosphere of PSV. You can check out htt://www.meridianclub.com
