Hi,
Can someone tell me what is normal to spend for lunch at the Sand Bar at Eden Rock. If you have a favorite dish please tell me. I know the reviews range from raves to rants. I just want to know how much I would be sinking into it. The concierge has sweetened the lunch with the promise of two deck chairs on the beach after lunch (gratis?).

My husband and I stayed at Eden Rock a few years ago so I don't have current information but my recollection is that lunch always cost at least $125 and that wasn't going crazy with drinks or multi-course lunches. Eden Rock took its food and dining experience seriously so we always had wonderful food and fabulous service. I would budget at least $150-200 (in US dollars) for lunch. The local currency is the euro.
Offering chairs when you lunch at a restaurant is fairly common in the Caribbean so I wouldn't be surprised if that holds true at Eden Rock. Again, we were staying there so obviously we had chairs provided to us. The beach attendants would brush off the sand from the chairs every time we got up.

I remember having a fabulous lobster club sandwich there for around $75. Expensive yes, but what a great setting to be in while throwing your money away. Sometimes it is better to soar a moment with eagles instead of spending a lifetime with the pigeons, don't you think?
On the other end of the scale is Le Select in downtown Gustavia----cheeseburgers in paradise.
We spent a day at the Eden Rock. Rented the chairs and had lunch. We each had a very simple sandwich and a beer and it was over $150; plus they made us pay extra for the chair rentals.
Over $200 by the time we left. The view is lovely but it is costly!
Dover sole there is outstanding. Definitely budget at least E200, more if having drinks.
Open up your wallet! We had a marvelous lunch (rose wine), appetizers, and then main salads each. Cost close to US$200. Didn't stay for the loungers, instead moved over to Le Plage bar where you can drink and lounge on loungers.
