louvered doors at Cap Juluca
Trying to tell from the photos if the doors leading to the veranda at Cap Juluca are louvered or not. Stayed at a Sandals once that had louvered window, could not get the room cool at night. Does Cap have solid doors, glass over windows, and good AC. Love hot caribbean, but need my cold room to sleep and recoup at night. Also don't want to deal with bugs. Thanks in advance for your reply

Thanks Roams around,
We are between Cap Juluca,(love Anguilla but have only done day trips from St. Maarten) Sandals Med. Village Antigua been there but it was cool and could do it again. Or Riu or Hyatt in Aruba. Been years since we have been to Aruba. First week of this trip will be St. Maarten (we love) with a day trip to Anguilla (in-laws with us first week, they haven't been to Anguilla) trying to narrow down second week of trip. Second week just hubby and I celebrating anniversay.

Of all the places you mentioned Anguilla is by far the best island if you are seeking the perfect combination of white sand beaches (35 different ones), bright torquoise waters, great restaurants (80+ to choose from) and top-notch resorts.

Roams Around,
I agree the beaches in Anguilla are hard to beat. Calm clear water is a biggie for me. During our day trip to Anguilla we ate at Gwen's Reggae Shack. It's on Shoal Bay (East I believe) Is the beach in front to Cap Juluca as calm and clear as at Shoal Bay. Is food and drink (esp. drinks during the day on the beach) at Cap going to break the bank? Just don't want to get there and get sticker shock on everything.

The beach at Cap Juluca is one of the nicest on the island and the water is generally calm and crystal clear.
Food and drinks at CJ are going to be about the same as you'd find at any upscale Caribbean resort. Whether or not they "break the bank" depends on how solvent YOUR BANK is. Cap Juluca is one of the 3 top resorts on the island so by definition prices at the resort are going to be on the high side.
Lunches will run you anywhere from $10 (all prices in $US) to $30 PP.
Depending on what restaurant you dine at and how many courses you have dinners will cost you anywhere from $25 to $100 PP.
As for drinks expect to pay around $5 for beer and Soft Drinks, $8 to $10 for mixed Drinks, $10 to $15 for exotic cocktails, $7 to $12 for wine by the glass and $25 to $300 for wine by the bottle.
Food and drink prices around the island vary but keep in mind that if you go to any of the upscale restaurants prices will be about the same.
