Looking to celebrate five year wedding anniversary in May

Hello! My husband and I are looking to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary in May and we are looking for an amazing vacation getaway where children are not allowed. We have heard great things about the Dominican Republic and St. Lucia but we need some advice. We are thinking of doing an all inclusive but want some advice because some friends told me that they came out better not doing all inclusive. Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank You!!

sameness if your are a volume consumer of food and booze some

Loved St. Lucia. Not a fan of the DR.

In St. Lucia, look at Ladera (not AI), Rendezvous, Jalouise, and Coconut Bay.

Love AI. St. Lucia is kinda difficult to get around. If not staying directly in the Rodney Bay area, AI will be more convenient.

Thanks! I think we are really leaning towards St. Lucia. I hear nothing but good things about St. Lucia. Do you know of any websites for good deals for St. Lucia.

I looked at some of the websites last night in the prior responses but a few were quite pricey. I would like to keep this trip under the $4000 mark. We are planning to go from May 14- May 18 and I really think we are leaning more towards St. Lucia now. We still haven't decided if we should do an All Inclusive or not.

It is not all that easy to get around St. Lucia so an all inclusive may be a lot easier than finding and getting to restaurants for your meals. Their roads are not the best!

I have not been to St. Lucia but when I was in Dominican Republic with my boyfriend we stayed in Casa Colonial Resort. Its located in Puerto Plata and is perfect for a romantic getaway. The resort is gorgeous, it is right in front of the beach they have great spa packages and romantic dinner getaways. It is not an all inclusive hotel but in the end it gave us more liberty to be able to eat in Casa Colonial's great restaurants or in town.

My husband and I stayed at Windjammer Landing, and loved it. Good food, beautiful romantic rooms (open air, private sunbathing, 4 poster bed with sheer curtains). Cab ride to Rodney Bay wasn't too far.
